Getting Started
How does RideCalm work?
RideCalm plays a 100 Hz sine wave through your headphones for 60 seconds. This sound stimulates your vestibular system (inner ear) and helps reduce the sensory conflict that causes motion sickness. Based on research from Nagoya University, Japan.
When should I use it?
Right before you travel — before getting in a car, boarding a plane, or starting any journey. One 60-second session provides relief for up to 2 hours. You can repeat anytime the relief wears off.
Which headphones work?
Any headphones — AirPods, AirPods Pro, Galaxy Buds, Sony, Bose, JBL, Beats, wired earbuds, over-ear headphones. No special hardware required.

Common Questions
Can I lock my screen during a session?
Yes. RideCalm uses background audio, so the sound continues playing even when your screen is locked. You'll see it in your lock screen's Now Playing controls.
Is it safe for children?
Yes. RideCalm uses a gentle, low-frequency sound at safe volume levels. Children should use the app under parental supervision. It is not a medical device — if symptoms persist, consult a doctor.
Does it work for VR sickness?
Yes. VR/simulator sickness is caused by the same sensory conflict as motion sickness. Use RideCalm before your VR session for best results.
Is this the same as Samsung Hearapy?
RideCalm is based on the same Nagoya University research as Samsung's Hearapy app. The key difference: RideCalm works on iPhone with any headphones, while Hearapy is Android-only and optimized for Galaxy Buds.
Account & Billing
How do I cancel my subscription?
Open Settings on your iPhone > tap your name > Subscriptions > RideCalm > Cancel Subscription. You must cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. You'll keep access until the current period ends.
How do I restore my purchase on a new device?
Open RideCalm, go to Settings (gear icon), and tap "Restore Purchases". Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com to request a refund for any App Store purchase.
